This 5000 square foot single family home is located in Piedmont right at the edge of the Oakland Hills. In 2010 this property underwent a true transformation, revitalizing the main level as well as the upstairs home office. A few years later the family room and breakfast area received another update.
The rich and bright material and color palette was inspired by the property’s surrounding gardens. Existing finishes and client’s key furnishing pieces, such as a grand oriental rug and a large remarkable Japanese folding screen also influenced the new design. The newly added finishes complement the beautiful dark stained hardwood floors and the scenery beyond the vast expanse of glass throughout the home.
For the newly built-in desks and cabinetry in the office, a contemporary clean aesthetic transformed it into an airy space with ample closed storage. The home showcases modern spaces with unexpected eclectic touches.
