Venice Loft, Los Angeles CA

Located right at the edge of ‘The Coolest Block in America’ in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles, this weekend retreat for gallery owners conveys a sense of place and a subconscious understanding of Venice Beach. It manifests itself not only by an all-white interior to disguise the unremarkable architecture, but also by the blackened steel accents throughout and the custom furnishings & graffiti art. A warmer finish palette separates the more intimate spaces in the upper levels from the two-story main level. This project required a very close working relationship with the architect and contractor to achieve the individualized detailing and design this was set up for. The result is a project that lets the art speak and also reflects the edgy, art- and fun-loving personality of the clients.
